Mad Season’s “Live at The Moore” to Be Released on Vinyl

PRNewsFoto/Legacy RecordingsTwenty years ago, the original Mad Season lineup played their final show together at The Moore in Seattle. The performance was originally released on VHS in 1995, and now it's getting pressed to wax. Mad Season: Live at The Moore will be released on vinyl on August 28.

Formed in 1994, Mad Season was a grunge powerhouse featuring Alice in Chains frontman Layne Staley, Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready, Screaming Trees drummer Barrett Martin, and bassist John Baker Saunders. The group recorded one album, Above, featuring the hit single "River of Deceit." Following Saunders' death in 1999, as well as Staley's continued ailing health, Mad Season broke up. Staley died in 2002.

The Live at The Moore performance includes every track from Above, plus a cover of John Lennon's "I Don't Want to Be a Soldier."

Earlier this year, McCready and Barrett staged a Mad Season reunion performance in Seattle with Duff McKagan of Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver playing bass and Soundgarden frontman Chris Cornell on vocals. This week, Barrett announced he, McCready and McKagan were recording new Mad Season material together.
