Each show will be released as a four-LP collection and will be limited to 500 copies. The first show in the series, recorded in Montreal, will be released November 9, with one new show being released each week in November.
The series also includes live recordings from shows in Bogota, Colombia, Helsinki, Finland and Istanbul, Turkey. You can pre-order all four releases in a 16-LP set via Metallica's website.
In other Metallica news, guitarist Kirk Hammett confirmed the band is indeed recording new material.
"We have songs, and we are recording them, so that's a good sign," Hammett tells About.com. In an interview published earlier this month, frontman James Hetfield causally mentioned that Metallica was "recording right now." Metallica's last album was 2008's Death Magnetic.
