Metallica is double-dipping in the Rock in Rio pool this year. In addition to headlining the inaugural Rock in Rio USA in Las Vegas this May, the legendary metal band has also been added to the original Rock in Rio's lineup.
"One Rock In Rio in a year is just not enough!" writes Metallica on their website. "We’re very excited that we have been invited to be a part of the original Rock In Rio 30-year celebration by headlining one night during the festivities."
Metallica will join a stacked Rock in Rio lineup that also includes Slipknot, Faith No More, Queens of the Stone Age, System of a Down and Hollywood Vampires, a new band featuring Alice Cooper, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry and actor Johnny Depp. Meanwhile, the Rock in Rio USA lineup features Linkin Park, No Doubt, Coheed and Cambria, Deftones and Rise Against.
Rock in Rio will be held September 18-20 and 24-27 in Rio de Janerio, Brazil. Visit RockinRio.com/Rio for all ticket information.
