Metallica to Perform at Grammys

ABC/Randy HolmesMetallica will be taking the stage at this year's Grammys, the band announced on their website.

"First, it was a total honor to be nominated, but now this?!!?" Metallica writes. "We're beyond excited that we have been invited to perform on the 59th annual Grammy Awards telecast on Sunday, February 12, 2017."

There's no word on what Metallica will perform, but the band promises "something very unique and special." Perhaps they'll play their Hardwired...to Self-Destruct track "Hardwired," which is nominated for the Best Rock Song Grammy, but given all the swearing in that song, that might be too stressful for the CBS censors.

Metallica last took the Grammy stage in 2014, when they performed "One" along with Chinese concert pianist Lang Lang.

The 2017 Grammys will air February 12 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.

In other Metallica news, the band has shared official live footage of performances of the Hardwired songs "Halo on Fire" and "Now That We're Dead" in Seoul, South Korea, which you can watch now via Metallica.com.
