Metallica has made appearances at hockey and baseball games this year, and now they're going to take things to the extreme. The legendary metal band will perform at this summer's X Games. Metallica announced their X Games set in a video with skateboarding icon Tony Hawk.
"We're very stoked to have our music take humans to another level," says frontman James Hetfield in the clip.
Over the weekend, Metallica headlined the inaugural Rock in Rio USA festival in Las Vegas. The band is currently in the midst of recording their follow-up to their last album, 2008's Death Magnetic.
The 2015 X Games will be held in Austin, Texas June 4-7.
