Just this month, Metric announced the release of their sixth album, Pagans in Vegas, but it appears the band is already recording a follow-up. In a Facebook post, Metric reveals that they stopped by producer extraordinaire Steve Albini's Chicago studio to work on their seventh album.
"LP7 Recording: Day 1 in Chicago," the post reads, accompanied by a photo of frontwoman Emily Haines and Albini. "Steve Albini, much respect...Loved working at your studio. #electricalaudio #RoadRecord"
Albini has worked with Nirvana, Pixies, Bush and Chevelle, among many others. He appeared in the Chicago episode of Foo Fighters' Sonic Highways documentary and helped record the single "Something from Nothing."
Metric is currently on the road opening for Imagine Dragons' massive Smoke + Mirrors tour. Pagans in Vegas will be released on September 18.
