Credit: Brantley GutierrezMetric, Tegan and Sara and a host of other Canadian indie bands have contributed their music and likeness to the video game LOUD on Planet X. The game's score will be composed by members of Broken Social Scene and the punk band F**ked Up.
In LOUD on Planet X, you choose one of 12 bands to play as. After completing Level 1, in which you play a hometown show, you're whisked away to another planet, where you have to fight aliens using a variety of stage equipment, such as speakers, strobe lights and fog machines. The game blends the elements of rhythm games, like Guitar Hero, with those of tower defense games, like Plants vs. Zombies.
LOUD on Planet X is hoping to get funded through Kickstarter, where the developers are offering perks like a signed Metric print. If you want to donate $750, the developers will even create a digital avatar based on your likeness and put it in the game.
LOUD on Planet X is slated for a fall release.
