As previously teased, Fort Minor, Linkin Park guitarist and vocalist Mike Shinoda's hip-hop side project, is indeed coming back. Shinoda has released "Welcome," Fort Minor's first new track in 10 years. "Welcome" is accompanied by a "360" video, which you can watch via the YouTube mobile app or using Google Chrome.
"Yeah it's been a long minute," Shinoda raps on "Welcome's" first line, likely referring to Fort Minor's decade-long break between new songs. Shinoda only released one album as Fort Minor, 2005's The Rising Tied, before putting the group on hiatus.
In addition to "Welcome," Shinoda also has announced a one-off Fort Minor show in Los Angeles on June 29. Tickets will go on sale June 26 at 10 am PT via LinkinPark.com. For a preview of their live show, you can watch Fort Minor on Conan tonight, June 22.
Meanwhile, Shinoda will be touring with Linkin Park throughout the summer, including a headlining set at Summerfest.
