Morrissey Cuts Concert Short Due to “Chauvinistic Words”

Image Courtesy of Harvest/CapitolMorrissey left the stage early at his concert in Poland Wednesday night after an audience member standing close to the stage reportedly said something to offend the singer.

"During [Wednesday]’s Morrissey concert at Stodola Club in Warsaw one of the members of the audience standing close to the stage directed extremely offensive and chauvinistic words to the artist," reads a statement of the Live Nation Poland Facebook page. "This forced the artist to leave the stage."

British publication Express reports that the former Smiths singer only played 25 minutes before cutting the concert short.

Live Nation Poland is offering anyone who was at the Warsaw show free admission to Morrissey's show in Krakow on November 21.

Express also reports that the comment that forced Morrissey to leave the stage was about cancer. Last month, the singer told Spanish newspaper El Mundo that doctors have "scraped cancerous tissues on four occasions."
