Mumford & Sons’ “Believe” Tops “Billboard’s” Alternative Songs Chart

Image Courtesy of Big Hassle Fans seem to believe in Mumford & Sons' new, electric sound. "Believe," the banjo-less lead single from the band's forthcoming album, Wilder Mind, has reached the number one spot on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart.

"Believe" gives Mumford & Sons three number-one hits from three different albums on Alternative Songs. The band previously topped the chart with their breakout hit "Little Lion Man," from 2009's Sigh No More and "I Will Wait," from their 2012 Grammy-winning effort, Babel.

The ascent of "Believe" also ties the fastest flight to the top of Alternative Songs in four years. "Believe" reached number one in only four weeks -- a feat that was last accomplished by Red Hot Chili Peppers' 2011 single, "The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie."

Wilder Mind will be released on May 4.
