Mumford & Sons' new sound is on full display on "Believe," the first track released from the band's forthcoming album, Wilder Mind. There are electric guitar solos and big drums, and not even a little banjo. You can listen to "Believe" now on YouTube.
When Mumford & Sons first announced Wilder Mind, the band said in a statement that "We didn't say: 'No acoustic instruments.' But I think all of us had this desire to shake it up. The songwriting hasn't changed drastically; it was led more by a desire to not do the same thing again."
Wilder Mind is Mumford & Sons' third album. Their last record was 2012's Babel, which won the Grammy Award for Album of the Year.
In support of Wilder Mind, Mumford & Sons will be touring on their Gentlemen of the Road Stopovers -- two-day mini festivals that will feature the likes of Foo Fighters, Alabama Shakes, The Flaming Lips, My Morning Jacket and more.
Wilder Mind will be released on May 4.
