Mumford & Sons’ “Wilder Mind” on Track for Number-One Debut on “Billboard” 200

Glassnote RecordsMumford & Sons' new album, Wilder Mind, appears to have struck a chord with fans, even if that chord is electric. The band's banjo-less album is on pace to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 for the week ending May 10 with an estimated 260,000 equivalent album units sold -- a figure that includes sales and streams.

For Wilder Mind, Mumford & Sons put aside the banjo for the electric guitar and a more straightforward rock sound. The album's lead single, "Believe," led Billboard's Alternative Songs chart for five weeks.

If Wilder Mind grabs the number-one spot on the chart , it will be Mumford & Sons' second straight number-one album. The band's last album, 2012's Babel, spent its first three weeks at number one, and it returned to the top of the chart a few months later after it won the Grammy for Album of the Year.

The final Billboard 200 tally for the week will be revealed on May 13.
