Muse has always had an operatic quality to their music, and their new album, Drones, is perhaps their most lyrically high concept record. So would the band ever consider turning Drones into a musical? As bassist Chris Wolstenholme tells Australian website Music Feeds, they certainly wouldn't be opposed to the idea.
"I think it would be great to be able to do that at some point!" Wolstenholme says. "I think in the immediate future obviously it's still an album that the fans haven't heard, you know, so all we can really think about at this point in time is getting the album out and going on tour."
"But yeah, it would be great to be able to have it incorporated into some sort of musical or something," he adds. "It's not something that we've ever done before, it would be very exciting to be a part of it!"
Perhaps Muse will follow in Green Day's footsteps and bring Drones: The Musical to Broadway.
Drones the album will be released on June 9.
