My Morning Jacket Announce New Album, “The Waterfall”; Tour Dates

ATO Records/Capitol RecordsMay 4 looks to be a stacked day for album releases. Following Monday's announcement that Mumford & Sons will release their new album, Wilder Mind, on May 4, My Morning Jacket has revealed they, too, will release their new record on the first Monday of May. Entitled The Waterfall, MMJ's new release will be their first full-length album since 2011's Circuital. The first single from The Waterfall, "Big Decisions," is streaming now on Vevo.

MMJ recorded The Waterfall while staying at Stinson Beach in Northern California.  "For me, every record has the spirit of where we made it," says frontman Jim James in a statement. "Stinson Beach was so psychedelic and focused. It was almost like we lived on our own little moon out there. It feels like you're up in the sky."

Along with the album announcement, MMJ also revealed their touring plans in support of The Waterfall. The band's North American tour will begin May 15 in Athens, Georgia and run through August 14 at Red Rocks in Denver, Colorado. Following their North American stint, MMJ will hit Europe, concluding with an appearance at the inaugural Lollapaolooza Berlin in September. The MMJ fan club pre-sale will happen March 9, with general on sale beginning on March 13. Visit MyMorningJacket.com for all ticket info.
