My Morning Jacket’s Jim James details new covers album, “Tribute to 2”

ATO RecordsMy Morning Jacket frontman Jim James has announced a new album of covers, titled Tribute to 2. The 11-track collection will arrive on December 8. You can listen to James' take on the Beach Boys song "I Just Wasn't Made for These Times" now via YouTube.

"'I Just Wasn't Made for These Times' is a song that has spoken to me very deeply from the first time I heard it," says James. "So often, many of us just feel like we don't fit in, like somehow we were dropped into the wrong life at the wrong time. This song has such a beautiful way of resonating with that energy and relating to the pain of life on earth, but also offering hope and comfort in the beautiful sounds of togetherness."

Tribute to 2 also includes covers of Bob Dylan, Willie Nelson and Sonny & Cher, among others.

Along with Tribute to 2, James will also reissue his 2009 George Harrison covers EP, titled Tribute to, on December 8.
