Orbit: Metallica was written by Michael L. Frizell, and the cover was designed by his younger brother, David Frizell, who's previously worked with Avenged Sevenfold.

"It's Metallica! What rock artist wouldn't jump at the chance to draw them?" says the younger Frizell in a statement. "I've followed them their entire career. They are the most influential metal band ever."

"Metallica's formation marks the beginning of metal, breeding thrash metal which progresses to heavy metal during the glam rock era," adds interior artist Jayfri Hashim. "Many people get it wrong when they say Metallica is a rock band. They're not. They are the very definition of a metal band. They were daring, innovative, and the story of their beginning fascinates me."

If you want to see the comic book heroes in action, Metallica will be headlining Lollapalooza this weekend.
