Nickelback drummer Daniel Adair victim of alleged identity theft

ABC/Tim OgierA man in Florida allegedly impersonated Nickelback drummer Daniel Adair to purchase $25,000 of drum microphones. According to an affidavit obtained by PEOPLE, the man was arrested this week by Port St. Lucie police on two felony fraud-related charges.

Adair became aware of the possible identity theft when he was contacted by Nickelback's business representative, who wanted to confirm that he made a large purchase of tens of thousands of dollars. A security specialist then reported to the police that Adair "had his identity used to fraudulently order drum parts from a company in Vienna, Austria."

According to PEOPLE, the alleged perpetrator was released from St. Lucie County Jail on bail.
