Nirvana shares message to Kurt Cobain on 25th anniversary of his death

Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic, IncNirvana has shared a message the late Kurt Cobain to mark the fact that today is the 25th anniversary of his death.

The legendary grunge band tweeted Friday, "Kurt -- You left us 25 years ago. You mean so much to so many," followed by a heart emoji.

Bassist Krist Novoselic retweeted Nirvana's post.

Meanwhile, Cobain's daughter Frances Bean Cobain shared a black-and-white photo of her father as a kid in her Instagram Story. She also shared a message encouraging those struggling with mental health problems to reach out for help.

"If you are struggling with your mental health and need someone to talk to please do not be afraid to reach out to your friends, neighbors, parents, counselors, teachers or even strangers on the internet," she wrote.

"Needing help is not a weakness. Let's end the stigma and shame towards the struggle with mental health."

Cobain died by suicide on April 5, 1994. He was 27.
