“Origins” of Symmetry: New albums from Imagine Dragons and Muse arrive today

ABC/Randy HolmesNew albums by Imagine Dragons and Muse are out today.

ID's Origins arrives just over 16 months after their smash hit Evolve was released in June 2017. It's described as a "sister album" to its predecessor, which spawned the hit singles "Believer," "Thunder" and "Whatever It Takes."

"It's about seeking new ground but also appreciating your roots," frontman Dan Reynolds says of Origins. "When we create, we create with no boundaries, no rules. We find it thrilling to make music that feels different and new to us."

Origins features the new songs "Natural," "Zero," "Machine" and "Bad Liar." You can also hear "Zero" in the upcoming animated film Ralph Breaks the Internet, which hits theaters November 21.

As for Muse, it's been much longer since we've gotten a new album from the British rockers. Their new effort, Simulation Theory, arrives more than three years after 2015's Drones was released.

Simulation Theory takes you into a world of artificial intelligence, and ranges from the electronic "Algorithm" to the acoustic-driven "Something Human." If you're looking for more traditional rock songs, you'll find that in songs like "Thought Contagion" and "Pressure."

Muse will launch a world tour in support of Simulation Theory in 2019. The U.S. leg kicks off February 22 in Houston. You can catch a preview when Muse performs on NBC's The Tonight Show next Tuesday, November 13.
