Ozzy Osbourne, Red Hot Chili Peppers' Anthony Kiedes and Guns N' Roses' Duff McKagan have joined a campaign run by Animals Asia to end bear bile farming. All three will be featured in a short "Spinal Tap-inspired" film that condemns the practice. You can watch a teaser for the film, featuring Kiedes sporting a pair of bear ears, on YouTube.
Bear bile farming, prevalent in China and Vietnam, is the practice of extracting the animal's bile for use in traditional medicine. The practice is often painful and invasive for bears and can result in infection.
The film for the campaign, titled Let a Bear S**t in the Woods, will be released on May 13.
Other celebrities to have supported Animals Asia include Led Zeppelin's Jimmy Page and actor Ricky Gervais.
