"Hallelujah" is the first Panic! song to be released following the departure of founding drummer Spencer Smith. Smith had been on hiatus from the band since 2013 but officially announced his departure from Panic! earlier this year. Without Smith, Urie is the only remaining original member of Panic! still left in the band.

Panic! at the Disco is currently working on their currently untitled fifth album. The band's last record was 2013's Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die!

Urie will bring Panic! on the road along with bassist Dallon Weekes throughout this summer and fall.
