Paramore’s Hayley Williams on Grammy-Nominated “Ain’t It Fun”: “This Is What We Started a Band to Do”

Image Courtesy of Fueled by RamenParamore has been nominated three previous times for Grammy awards, but they have yet to bring one home. That could change this year, as the band is up for Best Rock Song for their single "Ain't It Fun." Frontwoman Hayley Williams says she's really pleased that Paramore was nominated for this song in particular.

"It's really special," she tells ABC News Radio about the nomination. "This is the song that, when we wrote it, we were like, 'Ah! This is it! This is what we started this band to do.'"

More importantly to Williams, however, is that the song came from Paramore's most recent album, which the band decided to leave self-titled.

"I love that we got recognized for a song on the self-titled album. It's my favorite album we've ever done," Williams says of Paramore. "It's [bassist] Jeremy [Davis] and [guitarist] Taylor [York]'s favorite album we've ever done. So, [it's] just a great validating feeling, you know?"

Williams and Paramore's competition for Best Rock Song include Beck's "Blue Moon," Ryan Adams' "Gimme Something Good," The Black Keys' "Fever" and Jack White's "Lazaretto."

The Grammys air this Sunday night on CBS.
