Fresh and Clean Media/C3 Presents/WMEThe lineup for this year's Lollapalooza festival has been announced, and it's an typically eclectic bill: Paul McCartney will make his first appearance at the long-running festival, while Metallica will return for the first time since 1996. Other headliners include Florence + the Machine, Sam Smith, alt-J, Alabama Shakes, Of Monsters and Men, TV on the Radio, MisterWives, George Ezra, and many more.
Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell said in a statement, "The heart of Lollapalooza has always been the music. The brotherhood and sisterhood of musicians is getting stronger and the unexpected surprises and collaborations are cementing magical moments that will live on in music history. Having young talented artists performing alongside legends is all I could ever ask for and I'll be grinning from ear to ear the entire weekend."
The festival will take place in Chicago's Grant Park July 31 through August 2. If you can't make it, a livestream will be available on a variety of devices.
Three-day passes to the festival are already sold out, but single-day passes are available today at the festival's website starting at 10 a.m. CST, as are VIP and Platinum Passes, and travel packages.
