Jeff Kravitz/FilmMagic, IncThe photos taken for Nirvana's 1992 SPIN cover shoot -- the legendary grunge band's first major magazine cover -- are going up for auction.
The lot includes one hundred original color slides and black-and-white negatives taken by photographer Greg Watermann, as well as every published photo, outtakes, contact sheets, signed analog gallery prints, copies of the magazine, and even the camera used during the shoot.
Not only that, but the auction winner will also be granted full copyright and ownership of all the images.
The whole package is part of the "Music Icons" event by auction house Julien's Auctions, held this Friday and Saturday, June 19-20. The winning bid is expected to be between $10,000 and $20,000.
"Kurt Cobain and Nirvana left a lasting impression on the music world that will never be matched," says Darren Julien, president and CEO of Julien's Auctions.
"Greg Watermann was one of the few photographers who were there to capture the moment in time with the band for this photoshoot," Julien continues. "This camera, negatives, and copyrights that are being sold in our Music Icons auction are likely to be a once in a lifetime opportunity."

By the way, the "Music Icons" auction will also include Cobain's famed 1959 Martin D-18E guitar, which he played during Nirvana's iconic MTV Unplugged performance. That's expected to fetch between $1 and $2 million.
