ABC/Randy HolmesDemocratic presidential candidate Beto O'Rourke is a former punk rock musician, and a music fan. During a stop in Madison, Wisconsin over the weekend, he revealed his favorite song by Spoon, who's from his home state of Texas.
"I don't know their albums as much as I know their songs," he told reporters. "'The Underdog' is perhaps my favorite Spoon song."
O'Rourke also called the Austin-based indie rockers a "great Texas band."
Spoon previously showed their support for O'Rourke by playing a political rally in support of his failed bid for the Texas Senate last fall.
In his campaigning, O'Rourke has spoken a lot about his love of punk rock, especially for Ian MacKaye of Fugazi and Minor Threat. In the early '90s, he was in a band with future At the Drive-In and The Mars Volta member Cedric Bixler-Zavala.
