Josh Homme has been added to the rock star roster of Gutterdämmerung, a new movie referred to as "The Loudest Silent Movie on Earth." The Queens of the Stone Age frontman joins a stacked cast of rockers that already includes Iggy Pop, Motorhead's Lemmy, Volbeat, Mark Lanegan, Slayer's Tom Araya and Homme's Eagles of Death Metal band mate Jesse Hughes.
"I'm speaking of the ginger Elvis, the six-foot-five viking monster of sound, fury and unbelievable good taste," Hughes says in a video introducing Homme. In a promo photo for the movie, Homme wields a bazooka referred to as "Death's Dominion."
Directed by Belgian-Swedish visual artist Bjorn Tagemose, Gutterdämmerung is "part rock show, part immersive cinema experience." Two more names will be added to the film before the trailer is released in the coming weeks.
Gutterdämmerung will be screened in theaters with a live band and live narrator in 2016. For more info, visit Gutterdammerung.com.
