Rage Against the Machine’s debut album returns to ‘Billboard’ 200

Epic RecordsRage Against the Machine is raging on the charts once more.

The reunited rap-metal band's self-titled 1992 album has returned to the Billboard 200, landing at number 174 on the chart.

Rage Against the Machine the album originally peaked at number 45 on the Billboard 200. It's been certified three-times Platinum by the RIAA.

As for the reason behind the uptick in sales, perhaps the ongoing protests against racism and police brutality could be a factor, given how Rage's music, and that album in particular, touch on those subjects.

Additionally, Rage and guitarist Tom Morello trended on Twitter this week after he responded to a supposed listener who did not appreciate the shredder bringing politics into his music, despite the band's explicitly political lyrics.

"What music of mine were you a fan of that DIDN’T contain 'political BS'?" Morello tweeted. "I need to know so I can delete it from the catalog."
