Report: Janet Jackson Turns Down Las Vegas Offer

Image Courtesy Mary Ellen Matthews/UniversalFor many artists, landing a Las Vegas residency is a capper to their legendary careers, and it appeared that Janet Jackson was the next entertainer set to have her name appearing on a Sin City marquee, but a deal to bring the singer to The Strip reportedly has fallen through.

According to the Las Vegas Sun, there were plans for Jackson to announce a run of shows at the Venetian, however the negotiations have broken off, at least for the moment. The paper reports that the singer turned down what was labeled the venue's final financial offer.

Jackson would have joined a growing roster of artists with Vegas residencies, including Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men.
