Writing while touring can be a difficult process, by bassist and vocalist Mike Kerr came up with a solution.
"I built a studio in the back of our bus," Kerr tells NME. "It's very hard to write when everything keeps falling over because the driver's taken a massive corner. It was our writing den -- we'd have Clint Eastwood movies playing with the volume down."
Royal Blood was celebrated for it's simple, straightforward approach, courtesy of Kerr's distorted bass riffs and Ben Thatcher's giant drumming. That approach won't differ too much on their second album, as Kerr says the band feels they "don't need to reinvent the wheel."
Royal Blood is currently in the finishing stretch of their U.S. tour, which concludes October 9 during the second weekend of the Austin City Limits festival.
