During their set at this year's Reading festival in England, Royal Blood debuted a new song called "Hook, Line and Sinker." The new track will appear on the band's sophomore album, on which the band currently is working.
"The writing process [for the album] really has just begun," frontman Mike Kerr tells Gigwise. "Maybe ['Hook, Line and Sinker' is] like, the weirdest song on the record, I don't know yet. It's not written, so it's hard to say."
Royal Blood wrote "Hook, Line and Sinker" a few months before their Reading set, and the band did do some writing on the road, but they feel much more productive now that they're back home.
"I found writing on the road a little stale," says Kerr. "It's not a very inspiring place really to write, because we're there to tour, and we're there to gig and we're there to focus on the show. Already having been back home, I think that it's proof that we much prefer doing it that way."
Royal Blood wrapped up their North American headlining tour in support of their 2014 self-titled album earlier this month. The band also spent their summer opening for Foo Fighters.
