Saint Asonia Reflects on First Show: “We Were Pretty Excited & Stoked”

Credit: Travis ShinnThe semi-supergroup Saint Asonia introduced themselves to the world with a surprise set at the Rock on the Range festival earlier this year. In the latest episode of their "The Making Of" web series, the band reflects on how they think that show went.

"I think that the crowd sort of fed off our energy," says frontman Adam Gontier in the video. "We were pretty excited and stoked, a lot of adrenaline and nerves and all that stuff. I think that came across and the crowd was into it. "

Gontier, formerly the lead singer of Three Days Grace, formed Saint Asonia with Staind guitarist Mike Mushok. The band also features bassist Corey Lowery and former Finger Eleven drummer Rich Beddoe. Their self-titled album is out now.

"That's where we both want to be, just happy with and proud of the music that we're putting out," Mushok says, referring to himself and Gontier. "I think that this record, from top to bottom, I'm really proud of the way it came out."

Saint Asonia will embark on their first-ever headlining tour on August 14 in Oklahoma City. The band will also be joining Seether for a joint trek this fall.
