On Sevendust's song "Thank You," the lead single from their forthcoming album Kill the Flaw, the band takes a page from Pink Floyd's "Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2)" by including a children's chorus singing behind frontman Lajon Witherspoon's brutal vocals. In an episode of their "Making of Kill the Flaw" video series, Sevendust shares behind-the-scenes footage of them recording "Thank You" with the children's chorus. You can watch the clip now at RevolverMag.com.
"It's one of those things where it can be very cool, or it can be very Nickelodeon," guitarist Clint Lowery says in the video of using a children's chorus.
After they heard the chorus record their part, all the members of Sevendust were firmly in the "very cool" camp.
"For me it was just a special moment because you hear these kids singing your words, and they add this immediate innocence to it, even though the words are cynical," Lowery says.
Kill the Flaw will be released October 2.
