Shinedown, Korn to headline Seether’s 2017 Rise Above Fest

ABC/Randy HolmesShinedown and Korn will headline this year's edition of Seether's annual Rise Above Fest, scheduled for July 22-23 in Bangor, Maine.

This year's Rise Above Fest marks the fifth edition of the event. Seether first launched the festival in 2012 to raise funds for, and awareness of, suicide prevention and mental illness. The festival takes its name from the Seether song "Rise Above This," which frontman Shaun Morgan wrote as a message to his brother, who committed suicide nearly 10 years ago.

"It's unbelievable we're in our fifth year of Rise Above Fest," says Morgan in a statement. "We started this out as a way to give back and raise awareness. To have created something that our friends and fans believe in is really humbling."

The 2017 Rise Above Fest lineup will also include a performance from Seether, plus Halestorm, Stone Sour, Skillet, HELLYEAH, Pop Evil, Falling in Reverse, Red Sun Rising, All That Remains, Starset, Theory of a Deadman and Avatar, among others.
