Slipknot’s Chris Fehn out of the band following report of lawsuit

"Slipknot's focus is on making album #6, and our upcoming shows around the world, our best ever," reads a statement posted to the band's website.

"Chris knows why he is no longer a part of Slipknot," the statement continues. "We are disappointed that he chose to point fingers and manufacture claims, rather than doing what was necessary to continue to be a part of Slipknot. We would have preferred he not take the path that he has, but evolution in all things is a necessary part of this life."

Last Thursday, The Blast reported that Fehn filed a lawsuit accusing his band mates of setting up separate business entities in various states in order to funnel money to themselves, without paying the other members.

Prior to discovering these alleged businesses, Fehn was apparently told that all the profits from merchandise and touring had been pooled into one main company, which then distributed the money to each member.

According to The Blast, Fehn specifically mentions frontman Corey Taylor and percussionist Shawn "Clown" Crahan in his lawsuit.

In an apparent response to the report, Taylor tweeted Thursday, "You're gonna read a lot of bull**** today. This is all I'll say. JUST YOU WAIT TIL THE TRUTH COMES OUT. Long Live The Knot."

Fehn joined Slipknot in 1998, and has played on each one of the band's albums. A new, currently untitled album is due out August 9.
