Slipknot’s Mick Thomson Undergoes Spinal Surgery

"I recently joined the cyborg club," Thomson writes on Instagram alongside a photo of his X-ray. "Sore as f*** but hope to be back to mid 2000s banging by our next record cycle. Should probably just have every disc replaced all the way down to be safe."

Interestingly, Thomson is the third Slipknot member to have spinal surgery in the last year. Guitarist Jim Root went under the knife last October following the band's performance at the Louder than Life festival, while frontman Corey Taylor, who unknowingly suffered from a broken neck for years, had emergency spinal surgery over the summer.

Thomson should have plenty of time to recover, since Slipknot doesn't currently have any tour dates on their schedule.
