Soundgarden Documentary in the Works, Band Asks Fans for Help

Image Courtesy of Mike LavineA week after HBO revealed plans for its forthcoming Kurt Cobain documentary, Montage of Heck, fellow grunge pioneers Soundgarden have announced that they too will be the subjects of an upcoming feature documentary. In order to make the film, the band is asking fans to submit any Soundgarden memorabilia that they may have collected over the years.

"As we dig deep into our vaults, we ask that you, the fans, dig into yours," reads a statement on Soundgarden's website. "Personal photographs, bootleg video and audio, collected concert posters -- your rare piece of music history could be the missing piece we need."

The band then asks fans to send a description of what they've got to info@bangerfilms.com with the subject line "Soundgarden Fan Submission."

Metallica recently asked fans for the same favor as the band puts together their reissues of Kill 'Em All and Ride the Lightning.

Soundgarden's latest release, Echo of Miles: Scattered Tracks Across the Path, is similarly retrospective -- the three-disc compilation collects the band's rare and unreleased songs and covers.
