Soundgarden Releases New Song, “Storm”

Image Courtesy of Mike LavineFresh off the impromptu reuniting of Temple of the Dog, Chris Cornell and Soundgarden have release a new song, "Storm." The track is the first new music from Soundgarden since the band's 2012 comeback album, King Animal. "Storm" first appeared on YouTube before the video was made private. It's currently streaming on Spin.

No other details about "Storm" -- whether it's the first track off a new album, for example -- have been released. The song could also be a part of Soundgarden's long-in-the-works B-sides compilation. Last June, guitarist Kim Thayil alluded to re-recording a Soundgarden demo in an interview with AlternativeNation.net.

"There’s a song that recently we were doing with Jack Endino, we recorded it a few weeks or a month ago," said Thayil. "That was from the mid 80’s, we actually recorded that potentially to use it in some form, maybe a soundtrack or something. We recorded it just to see how it would turn out, we haven’t really confirmed how it’ll be used, but it’ll probably end up on a compilation of some sort, and I’d imagine that would then be included on a B-sides album."
