Stone Sour to Release Two More Covers EPs

Image Courtesy of Roadrunner RecordsFresh off the release of Meanwhile in Burbank for Record Store Day, Corey Taylor has announced that Stone Sour will be recording two more five-song covers EPs. Taylor revealed the news to Hatebreed frontman Jamey Jasta on his podcast The Jasta Show.

"The second one's called Straight Outta Burbank, and the third one's called No Sleep Till Burbank," Taylor tells Jasta. The titles are apparent references to rap group N.W.A's Straight Outta Compton and the Beastie Boys' "No Sleep Till Brooklyn."

Meanwhile in Burbank features Stone Sour covers of songs Metallica, Judas Priest, Alice in Chains, Black Sabbath and KISS. Taylor says the next two EPs will focus on an entirely new group of artists.

"The next album, just to give you a little hint, it's got everything from Bad Brains to Mötley Crüe on it,” says Taylor. "And then the third one is going to probably have everything from Violent Femmes to Rage Against the Machine."

In the meantime, Taylor will reconvene with Jasta when Slipknot and Hatebreed tour together starting April 29 in Pensacola, Florida.
