Monkeywrench RecordsTen Commandos, the new hard rock powerhouse featuring Pearl Jam and Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron, Soundgarden bassist Ben Shepherd, Queens of the Stone Age collaborator Alain Johannes, and Dimitri Coats of the punk band Off!, have released their debut single. The song is called "Staring Down the Dust," and features lead vocals from ex-Screaming Trees frontman Mark Lanegan. You can download "Staring Down the Dust" now on iTunes.
"Staring Down the Dust" will be featured on Ten Commandos' self-titled debut album, which will be released in late November on Pearl Jam's Monkeywrench Records. The 10-track album will also feature contributions from soul singer Nikka Costa and guitar legend Peter Frampton.
Ten Commandos began in 2008 as an idea formed by Cameron and Johannes. Alongside Shepherd, they wrote the bulk of their debut album that year. However, their schedules prevented them from entering the studio until 2014, when they recorded the album with Coats.
