The 1975 Gets Funky on New Single, “Love Me”

Credit: Dave MaFollowing their brief self-imposed social media blackout over the summer, The 1975 returned with a bright, neon-pink logo. That image is reflected in the band's newest single, "Love Me." The funky single, which sounds like a combination of Prince's "Kiss" with The Isley Brothers' "It's Your Thing," premiered on BBC Radio 1. You can download "Love Me" now on iTunes.

"Love Me" is the first song to be released from The 1975's forthcoming sophomore album, the impressively titled I Like It When You Sleep for You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware of It, which will be released in February. The band's self-titled album was released in 2013.

Earlier this year, The 1975 posted a photo of a comic strip featuring quotes such as "the hardest part of any relationship is to say 'goodbye,'" before deleting all of their social media profiles. The social media blackout, along with the comic strip post, led some to believe that The 1975 had broken up. However, the band returned to social media a day later with a new logo, and soon announced tour dates in their native U.K. and the U.S.

The 1975's U.S. tour will run from December 3 in Boston to December 20 in Seattle.
