The 1975 Is Back on Social Media

Credit: Dave MaThat didn't last very long. Just a day after fueling breakup rumors by deactivating their social media accounts, The 1975 has returned to Facebook and Twitter. Their first post back from the digital grave is a neon pink version of The 1975's debut album cover, which could possibly be the cover of the band's next record.

Prior to the social media blackout, The 1975 posted a comic strip featuring cryptic quotes like, "the hardest part of any relationship is to say 'goodbye,'" and "As much as we might like things to stay the same, change is an inevitable part of life."

"So we must leave, with a parting 'we love you,'" the post concluded. "We are already gone."

While many were worried that The 1975 had called it quits, others speculated the whole thing was just a publicity stunt. Given their swift return to social media, the events of the last day certainly seem to fall in the "publicity stunt" camp.

The 1975 released their self-titled debut in 2013. The album peaked at number 28 on the Billboard 200 and reached number one in their native U.K.
