InterscopeThe All-American Rejects are back with new music. The band has released the acoustic-driven single "There's a Place," their first new song in three years. You can listen to "There's a Place," and watch the accompanying video, directed by Twilight director Catherine Hardwicke, now on YouTube.
Frontman Tyson Ritter wrote "There's a Place" while on set for the Hardwicke-directed movie Miss You Already, in which he has a role. The film is about the two life-long best friends, played by Drew Barrymore and Toni Collette, and how their relationship changes when Collette's character, Milly, is diagnosed with breast cancer.
"After my first day on set, I had this ringing in my ear," says Ritter in a statement. "Having not composed a piece of music for over a year at that point, I didn’t recognize that I was hearing a melody. With that melody, came the words. Immediately I knew what it was, it was a song for Milly, a song that was written as a goodbye note to her loved ones. 'There’s a Place' is something I'm very proud of as it came from the purest center of myself."
"There's a Place" will be heard in Miss You Already, which will be released on November 6.
The All-American Rejects are currently working on their fifth album. The band's last record was 2012's Kids in the Street.
