The Black Keys earn first number-one on the “Billboard” rock chart

ABC/Randy HolmesThe Black Keys have conquered a new chart.

The Akron, Ohio duo's new single "Lo/Hi" currently sits at number one on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Songs chart, marking the first time they've ever led that tally. They previously peaked at number five on the ranking in 2012 with "Lonely Boy."

Meanwhile, over on Billboard's Alternative Songs chart, where The Keys have historically had more success, "Lo/Hi" currently occupies the number-two spot, behind only Twenty One Pilots' "Chlorine."

If the song were to reach number one on Alternative Songs as well, that'd give Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney their fifth leader on the chart, following "Lonely Boy," "Fever," "Gold on the Ceiling" and "Tighten Up."

"Lo/Hi" is the lead single from the upcoming new Black Keys album Let's Rock, due out June 28. It's the follow-up to 2014's Turn Blue

The Black Keys will launch a North American tour behind Let's Rock in September with support from Modest Mouse.
