The Decemberists “Unearth” Video for “Make You Better”

Image Courtesy of Autumn DeWildeThe Decemberists have released a new video for their single "Make You Better," but according to them, the video has been around for quite a while.

"Long rumored to exist, a rare 1977 German television performance of The Decemberists performing their hit music song 'Make You Better' on The Old Blue Rock Palace Show has just been unearthed to the delight of the band’s hardcore fans among whom the fabled appearance had achieved mythical status," reads a press release.

Even though the "unearthed" video was supposedly taped almost forty years ago, frontman Colin Meloy -- or, as he's referred to in the video, "Colon Meloy" -- and his band look like they haven't aged a day. Plus the German host looks and sounds suspiciously like actor/comedian Nick Offerman. You can solve the mystery of The Old Blue Rock Palace Show by watching the video, streaming now on Vevo.

The Decemberists will be making another TV-show appearance when they play "Make You Better" on Conan December 3. In 2015, the band will be trekking across North America in support of their upcoming album, What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World. The tour begins March 21 in their hometown of Portland, Oregon and wraps up April 13 in Nashville, Tennessee.

What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World, featuring "Make You Better," will be released on January 20.
