The musical love fest between The Flaming Lips and Miley Cyrus continues with Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz. The pop star's new album, which was recorded in collaboration with Wayne Coyne and his band, is available for free now at MileyCyrus.com.
Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz starts with the song "Dooo It!," which Cyrus performed at Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards alongside Coyne.
You might remember back in March 2014, when Cyrus teamed with Flaming Lips to do that trippy cover of The Beatles song "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds." "Trippy" is a word that definitely applies to Her Dead Petz as well -- if you’ve seen the video for "Dooo It!," you already know that. A statement from Cyrus' label says the album was indeed inspired by her dead pets: specifically, when she lost her dog and her fish one after the other, and then a friend lost her pet cat.
Her Dead Petz also includes a track called "Slab of Butter (Scorpion)," which features Sarah Barthel of Phantogram.
