Credit: Matty VogelEarlier this week, Blink-182's Mark Hoppus and All Time Low's Alex Gaskarth wrapped their first U.S. tour as Simple Creatures. If you missed the shows, don't worry -- Hoppus promises that "more U.S. tour dates [are] in the works."
"We are putting together a run, I believe, in October, and some shows in August as well in, between when Blink tours and All Time Low gets back in the studio and things like that," the bassist tells ABC Radio.
He confirms, "We are planning a lot more dates in the U.S. and overseas."
The duo just dropped their debut EP, Strange Love, last week, and another EP is forthcoming. Hoppus also says that a full-length album is on the table, too, and it may arrive unexpectedly.
"We want to release a full-length record, but we don't want to do it in the manner that our bands normally do, where you release an album and tour for two years, and then take some time off and then record another album and tour for two years," Hoppus explains.
"I think that music is consumed and enjoyed and created much more immediately now, and I like that," he adds.
As Gaskarth explains, that desire to do things differently from their other bands is what inspired the sound of Simple Creatures in the first place.
"The first couple songs we wrote for the project did sort of feel like we were going too far towards All Time Low/Blink territory," Gaskarth says. "So the ethos from there kind of became to constantly go left-of-center whenever we felt like we were getting too comfortable. And that is where the sound came from."
