The Gaslight Anthem’s Brian Fallon Announces Debut Solo Album, “Painkillers”

Credit: Drew GurianNow that The Gaslight Anthem is "taking a break," frontman Brian Fallon has revealed the details of his debut solo album. The record will be called Painkillers, and will be released in "early 2016."

In support of Painkillers, Fallon will be going on tour starting January 7 in Portland, Maine. During the outing, which concludes January 17 in Nashville, Fallon will be performing songs from his new album, plus cuts from his previous projects, such as his band The Horrible Crowes. Fallon will be joined on tour by a band comprised of The Gaslight Anthem guitarist Alex Rosamilia, The Horrible Crowes' Ian Perkins, and bassist Catherine Popper, who's played with Jack White.

"I'm overjoyed to be making this solo record," says Fallon in a statement. "And I can't wait to go out on the road with the new songs I have as well as to get to play [The Horrible Crowes'] Elsie album live again!"

The Gaslight Anthem announced last summer they'd be going on an indefinite hiatus. In a Facebook post, the band wrote, "We're all going to do other projects and stay active in some way or another, both in and out of music, but we'd like to step away from the band until we decide what we'd like to do next."
