The Offspring’s new album is “on hold” due to COVID-19

Tim Mosenfelder/Getty ImagesMany, many days have gone by since The Offspring released their latest album, 2012's Days Go By. Unfortunately, it looks like that wait may continue for a bit as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking to Download TV, frontman Dexter Holland reveals that while the upcoming record is "basically done," it's currently "on hold."

"It's basically done, we're kinda just doing some last-minute tweaks," Holland says.  "We had a single scheduled to be released and all that stuff, and then this happened.  So it's on hold at the moment."

While the album's in limbo, The Offspring was able to get together to record and release a cover of the Tiger King song "Here Kitty Kitty," though the video's been removed from YouTube due to a copyright claim.
