ABC/Randy HolmesThe Strokes guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. will make his acting debut in the upcoming film Newness, which will premiere at this month's Sundance Film Festival.
"My name in lights," Hammond writes on Facebook. "So excited to see this movie at Sundance. I had a little role but it was a lifetime experience with amazing people. Too much!"
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Newness is about "two millennials navigating a social media-driven hookup culture." X-Men actor Nicholas Hoult also will star in the film.
Hammond and the rest of The Strokes released a new EP, titled Future Present Past, last year, and they plan to unveil another batch of new material in 2017.
