With the track, Julian Casablancas and company set the record for most time between top-10 hits on Billboard's Alternative Airplay chart.
"Bad Decisions" vaults to the top 10 on the chart for the tracking week ending July 4, a full 14 years, six months and one week since The Strokes last achieved that feat with "Juicebox" back in 2005.
Previously, the longest gap in between top-10 singles on Alternative Airplay in the chart's 32-year history was held by Social Distortion, who waited 14 years, three months and two weeks in between hitting the mark with "I Was Wrong" in 1996 and "Machine Gun Blues" in 2011.
"Bad Decisions," which interpolates the melody from Billy Idol's "Dancing with Myself," is the lead single from the new Strokes album The New Abnormal. The record dropped this past April, seven years after the release of the last full-length Strokes record, 2013's Comedown Machine.
